Sugar Rose Tiger Lily Body Butter

Over the past year or so I have been on a quest to find the perfect body butter. While in a chemist the other day I came across the MOR Sugar Rose Tiger Lily Body Butter. As a sucker for pretty packaging (like many, many other girls), I'm always drawn to MOR products and have enjoyed their products on other occasions... So I bought it.

The first thing I noted when I opened the lid was the smell. Although it does smell quite nice - more sweet than fruity - I wasn't blown away. Since it has such a pretty name, Sugar Rose Tiger Lily, I was expecting a nicer scent.

I'm not sure if you can tell from the photo, but the next thing I noticed was the texture. It has a sheen to it, which looks nice in the pot but doesn't really last on the skin. I also found that it has quite a thick texture that takes quite a long time to absorb into the skin. While my skin has been softer after using it, I haven't noticed any great results.

Overall I have been a little disappointed with this body butter. The smell is nothing special, it takes quite a long time to be absorbed and my skin is only slightly softer. I payed around $17 for this product which is not toooo bad, but I wont be buying it again.

I'm hoping to get more from MOR in the future!

Top 3 Lip Balms

Throughout the seasons, many of us can suffer from a serious case of CLS (chapped lips syndrome), and being an obsessed lip balmer (lip conditioner, lip moisturiser...whatever you choose to call it) myself, I have had the opportunity to be able to test many different products and find the best possible ones!

And as Winter is definitely approaching in Australia, my skin and lips are definetly feeling it, BUT I have been able to prevent cracked lips from using a range of different products, in which I have been able to create my "Top 3 Must Have - Lip Balms"

At #3 - Blistex

I was introduced to this product when I was about 7 years old due to the influence of my older cousins! they were about 13 and all cool with their lip balms (this was the early 2000s), and I really liked it from the start! As many people would have already tried Blistex, I assume you have already felt that tingling feeling of applying it. But in regards to using this balm for reliving and preventing CLS, it is rather good as well!

I find this lip balm to be nice for relief for minor cracked lips... and overall is a really nice lip balm. My favourite type of packaging is the "lip conditioner pot" because it's small, easy and affordable at just $3.40 from your local Discount Chemist.

Lip Conditioning Pot

Coming in at #2 - Burt's Bees

I have only recently purchased Burt's Bees products, and have been really impressed with them! They have lovely smells and "flavours"...more natural and organic scents, rather then sweet ones...which I prefer.

I find these brilliant for a quick lip fix on the go....as I carry one in my hand bag, one in my uni bag and another one in my car.

I am seriously loving these balms, and they are huge around the world... as I follow alot of other beauty blogs, such as Zoella etc. (I found out about these through her). But as these are not big in Australia, and are rather expensive for a small tube - costing about $6.95 for one, its a bit pricey, but worth it for convince.
I know alot of "pop up shops" of Burt's Bees have being emerging among Sydney shopping centres (where Emily and I bought our ones), so check it out! If your global, im sure you have already heard about Burts Bees, us Australians are just a little behind!

My 3 top Burts Bees Lip Balms - smell amazing.

#1 - Lucas' PaPaw Ointment

This is by far my favourite lip balm EVER... I am even struggling to finds words to describe how amazing this stuff is. NOT ONLY is it brillant for lips, but also for "minor burns, sunburn (amazing for this), gravel rash, insects bites..." and the list goes on!
I love using this just before I go to bed, and just apply a good amount pretty much all around my mouth...I know that sounds kinda weird, but trust me if you get it, you will do the exact same thing, everyone does. This keeps my lips SO hydrated all night, you even wake up in the morning and can kinda still feel it there.

I'm also pretty sure this product is one of the most underrated products that Australia produces, as literally everyone has some of this stuff somewhere in there house, or car, or ...at work.

Other useful bonus's about this product is that for a "multi purpose" ointment, it smells pretty good! not like, mmm just wanna eat it good, but waaaay better then some other weird ointments would smell. Another bonus is that its purely Australian! Stoked! But im sure it would be sold in other places among the world (hopefully...you MUST get your hands on this stuff).
But by far, the biggest bonus of them all, is that you can pick up a 75g tub for $10, and a 25g tube for $4.50. I KNOW RIGHT. and they also last for you ages! - I keep the tub next to my bed, and a tube in my handbag aswell when my lips are feeling EXTRA dehydrated.

Just please, go buy a tube or tub now...you won't ever look back.

Simple, yet effective!

Happy lip conditioning!

Poor Primer

Napoleon Perdis rose to fame in Australia thanks to his range of Auto Pilot face Primers, so when I came across the NP Set Eye Primer I was eager to give it a go... boy was that a mistake!!
Firstly a 10ml tube costs $20, which is pretty pricy in my opinion, and to make matters worse the tube wasn't full of product!! About 1/6 of it was empty... Not a good start.

I have been using the primer for at least 3 weeks and have been very disappointed overall - particularly because the main point of wearing an eye primer is to stop eyeshadow from creasing... if anything this primer always makes my eyeshadow crease...BIG. TIME. I'm also not a fan of the texture - its really greasy and oily which makes eyeshadow hard to apply.

Would defiantly not recommend this product and I will be very hesitant to buy anything from the Napoleon Perdis range again.

Avoid Dry Winter Nights

Recently both Emily and i have being loving the "Beauty Essentials Night Cream" by Priceline. This cream is perfect to put on after a shower, or even just removing your make up for bed. Its very light and isn't a messy cream that sticks to your hands like some are.
I have been disappointed with previous night cream that i have tried, as being very particular, i hate the feeling of "sticky face" before bed, but this cream is a keeper!
I am also finding this cream brilliant to avoid dry night skin! As Winter is on its way to Australia,  i suffer from very dry skin, which occurs because of cold nights.
I picked up this beauty for an affordable price of $5.00!

I am also willing to try the "day cream" for under my make up, which is also $5.00. Will let you know how that pans out :)

Luscious Length

On another one of our many adventures to Priceline recently, Courtney and I came across the Lee Stafford 'HAiR GRowTH TREaTMENT'. Because my hair takes FOREVER to grow - I was completely bald up until the age of 2 - I decided to give it a go.
The packaging claims that the treatment contains a protein based complex to fertilize hair follicles, allowing the hair to grow faster and reach its full potential, as the quote says, "If the earth is not nourished you'll never grow beautiful flowers". Awww
The instructions state to use an egg sized portion which in my opinion is wayy to big. It also says to leave the product in for 5 minutes, however i usually leave it in for up to 20 minutes.
Since using the product my hair has grown a bit longer - about 2cm after a month. I'm not sure if this is because of the product itself or because you are instructed to massage the treatment into your scalp, improving blood flow and stimulating the hair follicles. Either way it has left my hair soft, shiny and in better condition than it has ever been. Even though I didn't get miracle results from this product I would defiantly recommend it if you are aiming to improve the condition and length of your hair.
You can pick one up for $16 at Priceline.

Nude Lucy Lovin'

Throughout April, my favourite purchase by far has been the Tee's range by Nude Lucy. Not only have i already bought 2 of the 'Obi Tank' styled Tee's , in Denim Blue and Raspberry, but Emily has also bought a couple herself.

Raspberry and Denim Blue - On Model

Colour difference - a much richer colour at home

These are literally perfect for any occasion, whether it be uni, shopping, going out to lunch, going to the beach, lounging around the house or even going out (i have worn mine out to many bars and clubs by dressing them up with a heels.) They also look siiick with a chunky necklace.

They look amazing with jeans, shorts, skirts, jackets, flats, heels (ANYTHING) and come in such a large variety of colours. I prefer to wear mine with my black skinny's by Cheap Monday, or my Neon Hart faux leather leggings. (These leggings are also an amazing purchase this month-  they make your legs feel and look 10x skinner and longer - props to Jess hart). You can pick them up at your local General Pants Co. Store

I can not get enough of these Tee's and with the different range of styles they can suit everyones body shape or taste and with a little ironing they also look as good as the day you bought them! I will 100% be buying more of these throughout May, even though its getting a little colder (just through a nice cardy or jacket over the top).

And you will not even believe the price of these babies! I picked up mine from Glue Store, for a special of 2 for $40, or individually for $29.95.  I mean c'mon, is this real life?

See for yourself how amazing theses are! You can head to your local GlueStore or their website to purchase some today - www.gluestore.com.au/nudelucy-obi-tank-in-khaki.html
Happy Shopping!

Body Shop Stop

Recently I have been loving the Shimmer Cubes eyeshadows in 'warm' from The Body Shop. As you can see the four gorgeous shades included are; 'Marshmallow' a pale champagne pink, 'Chocolate Chip' taupe with a slight purple shimmer, 'Honeycomb' a light gold and 'Dark Cholocate' a dark brown.

I find each of the colours to be very useful on a day to day basis, both on their own and when blended with the other shadows .
The pigmentation is very good, however the 'Marshmallow' colour needs to be built up. I also always apply an eye primer before using the shadows as after a while the colours do tend to fade a bit.
For a night time look I use wet brushes to apply the eyeshadow which helps create a dramatic metallic look.

Coming in at $40.95 the quad is quite expensive, however you get a generous portion of product - I have owned it for more than a year and some of the colours look like they have hardly been touched.
I also looove the packaging! Each shadow comes in little plastic cube with a lid which allows you to make a quick touch up while on the go.

This eye shadow quad is a MUST for anyone wanting a bit more shimmer in their life!
